It’s been 2 weeks since StyleWeek Northeast Season 8 has ended and we were fortunate enough to have John Greene of Greene Films, capture some moments behind the scenes. Below is a short video that is an eye into our fabulous fashion world.

For the past eight seasons StyleWeek Northeast has embraced Providence with emerging designers and the fashionistas of the city. It has allowed the community of Rhode Island to experience what a true fashion show is like.

From buyers to press to our everyday girls, everyone is invited to experience this fantastic event that is held at The Providence Biltmore. Every night The Accessory Showcase presented by Flaunt Boutique, is open to non-ticket holders and is every day during StyleWeek from 5:30-9pm on the 17th & 18th floors of the Providence Biltmore. There you will find talented designers that create beautiful pieces of jewelry, handbags and even clothing. You can also get a quick makeup experience from Sephora.

Some of the vendors this season include Flaunt Boutique, Whiting and Davis, Restored by Design, The Pink Poppy, and Stella & Dot. For more information of the vendors check out StyleWeek Northeast‘s website.

A little later in the evening the magic will begin. Shows are at 7, 8 & 9 pm. Each night there are 3 different designers who will showcase the line for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2014 season. Some of the designers we have are returning veterans and the rest are just getting their feet wet.

Here’s a look at some of the designers who have already shown:

You’re not going to want to miss the rest of the week: Jillian Banta, Yellow Clover by sarah elizabeth, Nick Pini and Jonathan Joseph Peters are just some of the amazing veteran designers that will be showing at StyleWeek.

For more information head on over StyleWeek Northeast to see when your favorite designer is showing. This is a season you don’t want to miss!!!

A break from my current life? Yes, please!

4 Sep

It’s hump day and what better way to end it than to dream of what I would do if I could take time off from my current life. Well, today’s topic asks us to write: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do? Well where do I begin.

I would (starting tomorrow hypothetically)

1. Travel to New York and attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

mbfw

I have the privilege of working for StyleWeek Northeast, Providence’s very own fashion week that occurs twice a year, however, it is my dream and on my bucket list to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I love how there is so much that takes for it to come all together. I appreciate all of the hard work that everyone puts in, in order to have a week where talented designers can showcase their upcoming line. It takes an army to pull it off and I would love to someday attend and in my real dream world, work a show like I do here in Providence.

2. I would travel to Europe~ London and Paris

London

london

I have always wanted to travel here. I love the accent, the sites and attractions. (Plus who doesn’t love the Royal Family!)

Paris

Paris

I’d hate to admit it, but ever since I saw the Love Bridge on an episode of the RHBH (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, yes I know!!) and KKUTK (Keeping Up with the Kardashians), I want to go this bridge and put a locket on it. And who doesn’t love the Eiffel Tower!

3. Live in New York City and work at Glamour Magazine for a week as a writer for their website in the beauty department

nyc

For everyone who knows me, knows how much I love my magazines specifically Glamour. And you will probably also know it’s my dream to one day be a professional writer/blogger for an online publication. I currently have the privilege of being a Glambassador for Glamour Magazine and already get to do something kind of like this on the side by reviewing products for them, but I would love for it to be my job.

And last but not least……

4. Relax

I would take these three months to spend as much time as I could with my family and soak up every relaxing moment. Life is too short and we all need to be cognizant of appreciating the people we have in our lives for they are the ones who stand by you through thick and thin.

What would you do if you could take three months off??

Happy dreaming!!

Day 29~ Summer, summer, summer, summer time

29 Mar

*sigh* I think I’ve finally caught up. Being on vacation and trying to keep up is harder than I thought but I finally got some down time to sit and blog (while watching Fashion Star).

So day 29′s challenge is for us to tell our favorite time of the year and why. This is a no brainer. Summer. For as long as I can remember, probably going back 27 years or so, the summer time has been my favorite time of the year. I look forward to days and nights at the beach, cookouts, being tanned, traveling, concerts, late nights and being a teacher I kind of have no work (I still tutor and teach summer school but it’s better than 5x a week 8 hours a day).

My birthday is at the end of the summer but I still look forward to it. It usually marks the summer being over but on August 1, I begin my month-long celebration. This summer I will traveling to California and Vegas, attending Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z’s concert, and Country Music Festival. Throw in a week-long fashion week and the start of school and that’s only part of my summer.

I can’t wait to see what this summer brings!!!
