A break from my current life? Yes, please!

4 Sep

It’s hump day and what better way to end it than to dream of what I would do if I could take time off from my current life. Well, today’s topic asks us to write: If you could take three months off from your current life and do anything in the world, what would you do? Well where do I begin.

I would (starting tomorrow hypothetically)

1. Travel to New York and attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

mbfw

I have the privilege of working for StyleWeek Northeast, Providence’s very own fashion week that occurs twice a year, however, it is my dream and on my bucket list to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I love how there is so much that takes for it to come all together. I appreciate all of the hard work that everyone puts in, in order to have a week where talented designers can showcase their upcoming line. It takes an army to pull it off and I would love to someday attend and in my real dream world, work a show like I do here in Providence.

2. I would travel to Europe~ London and Paris

London

london

I have always wanted to travel here. I love the accent, the sites and attractions. (Plus who doesn’t love the Royal Family!)

Paris

Paris

I’d hate to admit it, but ever since I saw the Love Bridge on an episode of the RHBH (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, yes I know!!) and KKUTK (Keeping Up with the Kardashians), I want to go this bridge and put a locket on it. And who doesn’t love the Eiffel Tower!

3. Live in New York City and work at Glamour Magazine for a week as a writer for their website in the beauty department

nyc

For everyone who knows me, knows how much I love my magazines specifically Glamour. And you will probably also know it’s my dream to one day be a professional writer/blogger for an online publication. I currently have the privilege of being a Glambassador for Glamour Magazine and already get to do something kind of like this on the side by reviewing products for them, but I would love for it to be my job.

And last but not least……

4. Relax

relax

I would take these three months to spend as much time as I could with my family and soak up every relaxing moment. Life is too short and we all need to be cognizant of appreciating the people we have in our lives for they are the ones who stand by you through thick and thin.

What would you do if you could take three months off??

Happy dreaming!!

Got Frizz??

29 Jul

Oh summertime, how I love thee. Minus the frizz that attacks my hair. Thankfully this summer I was able to try Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Cream, given to me by Glamour as a Glambassador Challenge. I couldn’t have received this product at a better time. July is always a very hot and humid month and we all know what our hair looks like in that glorious weather.

I washed my hair as normal and continued to use my favorite products: It’s a Ten, Thermafuse HeatSmart Serum, and now I added a pea size of Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Cream. Once I had all of the product mixed into my damp hair I used the blow dryer as normal.

For my bun, I used all of my products prior to blow drying my hair as normal, and then used a very small amount on my hair once it was up in my bun to give it a nice shine.

I have never found a product that literally worked as well as it says it does. I am also very picky with texture, smell and how well my hair drys with it in it. On this day, I swear to you, it is exactly what it says it is. It renews shine to your hair and fights frizz all day long.

With one month of summer left, ladies, you need to help your hair and put an end to the frizz. This is one product I will continue to use even after the hot and humid days have left us.

You can find this fabulous product at Ulta or any establishment that sells Fekkai’s products.

CLEAR Scalp and Hair Therapy

24 Feb

Clear Shampoo and ConditionerAs a Glambassador for Glamour Magazine, it has given me many opportunities to test out and review products. The latest I’ve had the privilege of testing out, and I gave my sister the other set to test, was the Clear Scalp and Hair Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner.

Now for many years, I have spent a lot of money on salon brand products and I’ve also bought products at the drugstore. And I am sure there are many of you who are in the same boat as me. I will also admit, sometimes my hair could tell the difference from salon brand versus drugstore products; and there were other products where I knew I would never buy again.

When looking for a great shampoo and/or conditioner there is a certain criteria we, mys sister and I, have. We like to see how it smells, if it lathers nicely and if it rinses out of our hair well. I know I also like to take into account what my hair is like when I am out of the shower and trying to get a comb through my mane. It’s even a plus when my hair feels soft and manageable while wet.

For the past week, we have been trying this new fantastic duo. To our surprise, it held up to all of our expectations. My sister and I liked the smell, the way it lathered and how the conditioner worked on our hair. We both have different textures to our hair and both of us were satisfied. My sister liked how she could run her fingers through it without struggling. I normally have to use a conditioner in the shower and then use a few spritz of a leave in conditioner all over my hair but with this conditioner I have now limited my spritz to only two just on my ends (huge improvement, trust me).

The fact that you can also buy this product at your local drugstore, Walmart, or Target is great advantage. Prices range from $5-$7 depending upon where you buy it.

If you’re looking for a product that has a salon brand result with a drugstore price, this duo is for you.

Happy lathering!

Quote inspiration….

20 Jan

Lately I’ve been relying on quotes to remind me of the things I seem to lose sight of~ good things will and do happen, love eventually will find you, and sometimes you must remember- you alone are enough. Thanks to Pinterest, I have all of my inspirational quotes right at my fingertips. I thought I’d share some to shed some light to others that may be feeling the same I do some days.
