Ahhh Spring is finally here (or so the calendar tells us) and we’re all itching to put our winter clothes and shoes away; or at least I know I am! My 5 pairs of boots, leg warmers, socks and Uggs need to go into hibernation until the month of October.
Today I finally made a purchase I’ve been dying to make this season- a new pair of white Chucks!!! *sigh* I’ve haven’t been this excited to buy a new pair of shoes in awhile. Chucks have been around for what seems like forever, and I can honestly say I remember being 13 and traveling to the Converse store in East Providence to buy my first pair for that summer. My childhood best friend’s older brother drove us in his red hatchback, we all piled in, and bought a pair (mine were black-low top). It was like the official symbol of summer.
Every person probably has their own story of their first pair and I’m glad that I remember mine. They are a great symbol of fashion, flirty, and fun. You would be amazed at how many outfits you can wear them with. Don’t imagine them for just those ‘dress’ down days at work. Be prepared to style them with maxi dresses, shorts, jeans/tees, and more. I know I can’t wait!
Ps. One tip for those of you who may be thinking of getting a pair, I would try on a half size to a whole size smaller than you’re original size. I’m regularly a size 6.5 and had to buy a pair that were a size 5.5 (UK size 3.5); which is normal. I remember doing this when I bought my first pair as well.
